Mike Sharlow is a writer of science fiction, horror, mystery, and literary fiction. His subject matter is as eclectic as the writer's he respects, but in his own writing, regardless of topic, he continually walks to edge unafraid to shock or offend readers.

His work has been influenced by writers as diverse as H.P. Lovecraft, Stephen King, Harlan Ellison, Cifford D. Simak, Ray Bradbury. Raymond Carver, John Updike, John Fante, Hubert Selby Jr., M.F. Korn, Philip K. Dick, and John Judson.

Sharlow has lived in California, Nevada, and Wisconsin, where he presently resides and has lived most of his life.
